Day 18 - Siem Reap, Cambodia - Part 2

This afternoon was certainly a highlight of the trip. The temple of Angkor Wat was built in the 11th century and is the size of Los Angeles.

There is a moat surrounding the temple.

This is the king's entrance

Budda greets you as you enter

The group needs a rest once in a while

The bas relief is the longest in the world

The original color still remains in places

Climbing the stairs

We didn't attempt these

All of the temple walls were covered in gold, you can see the remnants in some places

This is a cistern

These crazy people crawled to the top to watch the sunset

Some enterprising company has set upa sort of balloon ride - it goes up and down on a rope

After the temple visit we had dinner and a fllor show with Cambodian dancers in native costumes
